about me

Alan Barnes

Brighton based photographer.

I had just turned 13 when my family hired a builder to carry out some work on our house . He told us he was getting married at our local church, so without him knowing, I took my Kodak Instamatic and waited for them to exit the church. My first Wedding Photo aged 13! I have been taking photos ever since and professionally for over 12 years.
I have photographed over 450 weddings and many commissions for musicians and businesses. I also supply fine art wall prints and frames

waiting in Manchester

Award Winning Photographer

Wandering around Manchester with my camera, I instinctively took the photo below. A man in a world of his own gazing skywards, waiting for his wife. I entered it for a 'SWPP' competition and it won GOLD award. The family now have a large frame of it on their wall.
One of the aspects that I love most about this image is that is was not posed, but looks like it was!
(Wall Art graffiti by the French street artist known as 'C215').
