THE MEHNDI PARTY

Mehndi, also known as henna, is a dye made from the henna plant. Due to its natural cooling properties, people from warmer climates have been using Henna Paste to control body temperature for centuries. It is also said to calm the bride’s nerves when applied to their hands and feet. The Mehndi party is held before the wedding—to beautify and bless the bride before the big day!

The Mehndi party is a night of fun with lots of food, music, and dancing and Reianna and Drew event at the Hollingbury Golf Club was no exception! It is tradition that the Bride, Groom and their families perform choreographed dance performances whilst everyone sits in front of the couple singing songs surrounded by colourful throw pillows and festive décor. Later, everyone got on the dance floor. One of the highlights for me was the traditional 'banter' between the Groom and Bride's female relatives - much laughter was had by all.

Please enjoy the amazing spectacle below in the photographs I took. Open the first photo, and scroll through the set.
